JL's tracks from this era were some of his best imo - I've got his second album but most of the tracks aren't nearly as good as this. He stopped producing DnB around 2002 and went full-time as a technical producer and mastering engineer, looks like it was the right move because he's still active today - he recently mastered projects for Run The Jewels, Freddie Gibbs, Kid Cudi, Gunna, and Denzel Curry.
Nice track, thanks for uploading! I'm looking for a certain song, all I know about it is the record was called Chronic 11 and the track had Street Fighter 2 samples in it, I first heard it in 1997. I've looked high and low but can't find it or mention of it anywhere.
